Well I think Chara fell in our present, and MANY years later, the game we know starts. Chara falling in 201X doesn't make sense. So Chara fell in 201X, it's pretty much confirmed canon, through Chara's narrating red text, but that just doesn't feel right to me. The monsters were sealed underground by humans' wizards wielding magic, swords and spears. They face someone who is presumably the monster king, and he looks suspiciously.
